We say this often to our friends and co-workers when they are around us, but it’s important to us that we openly acknowledge how fortunate we are to work with the people that we do to produce each issue. In making Issue 12, we marveled at the craft work and imagination of the photographers and writers who dedicated a lot of time and effort to make each component come to life. We were so happy to see that on each set the contributors immersed themselves in the moment of the interview or shoot to capture the vibrant personalities of our subjects. This has encouraged us to explore each moment on set even further, not only to ensure that the product comes out at it’s best, but to understand each features’ persona and work.

Aside from taking time to appreciate each moment we experienced when we were creating the latest issue, we have also taken the time to live each moment a little bit more in our day to day lives. We encourage each of you to do the same by taking five minutes to really listen to a song at a concert, maybe even dance, taking five minutes to laugh at your friend making a funny face instead of Instagramming it or taking fifteen minutes to bury your nose the a book you’ve been dying to read in the park instead of worrying about who you might see. Doing this is easier said than done, we know this from experience, but it’s really worth it to simply take five minutes to embrace each moment and live them to the fullest.
