CMW Review: Paradise Animals

Last night was my first time hearing Paradise Animals and definitely not my last. Sneaky Dee’s was packed with people clutching beers and in the midst of them, I spotted Jesse Giddings again (I swear I’m not stalking him).

The night was hosted by Young Lions Music Club and along with Paradise Animals, it featured bands like Sheezer, Bear Hands and Dinosaur Bones. From what I heard, the party turned into a sweaty dance party until 4am with Sheezer but unfortunately I didn’t make it that long.

Regardless, the music of Paradise Animals made me want to start a sweaty dance party but the crowd had another plan. Everyone else opted to stand still like their feet were super glued to the ground. This made me kind of sad but I danced anyways.

To accurately describe the night, I think the notes in my iPhone depict what I was feeling at the time. Here is a small excerpt:
-Jan packed
-Moustache
-the sound of summer when you’re lying alone in your backyard and loving it
-low key dance musi
-too short (aka I am too short and couldn’t see a thing)

With the exception of the few spelling mistakes and slurs of the hand on my iPhone screen, my slightly intoxicated notes summed it up quite nicely: Paradise Animals are the sound of summer. I can’t wait until the season arrives permanently so I can listen to them non-stop.
