Inlet Sound’s First Tour

Well, it’s official: Inlet Sound’s ‘Mademoiselle’ has now been stuck in my head for four days. It’s the upbeat number with curiously awesome lyrics and infectious mandelin with which the band concluded their Monday night show with at the Horseshoe Tavern.

The fivesome, hailing from “all over the place” in Canada is a talented bunch. Their show ranged from, as frontman Michael Wexler said from a sweaty stage, “very pleasant” violin and key-filled folk, to east-coast style proper drunk music. They’re a tight group with each member bringing compelling talent. The result is a full and unique sound that translates well to the stage.

Their Labour Day nighttime show at the Horseshoe marked the third stop on their first ever tour. The past week found them in Montreal for a show at McGill on September 6, followed by a September 11 set at Bazaar. They finish their tour at Hamilton’s Casbah on September 12.

Look out for our feature on Inlet Sound in Issue 9 (which is now live!).
