Whether you like them, hate them, or love them beyond reasoning, there is no denying that cats are the most ubiquitous thing on the internet. While it’s easy for millions of people to heart the internet’s kitties (they don’t shed, meow, scratch or require their litterbox to be cleaned) it takes a certain type of person to love them in real life, to fully appreciate all their magnificent quirks and habits. I know many such people, and the following things are inspired by, and dedicated to, them.

1. Vintage Sandy Lion Fuzzy Cat Stickers.

Like most kids who grew up in the 90′s, I used to collect stickers for my sticker books. Luckily, my mom is a teacher, and when she would go buy stickers for her classroom, she would bring me along with her to the Sandy Lion Warehouse, (a.k.a the Willy Wonka Factory of stickers). There I would pour over rolls and rolls of stickers in every shape, size, colour and texture. It’s ironic that the good stickers are the ones we never want to stick on anything.

2. Vintage Cat Eye Glasses.

There are a ton of retro cat eye frames floating around Toronto’s vintage stores (especially at Courage My Love in Kensington Market), but some really good ones can be found at the Vintage Optical Shop on Etsy.

3. “I Like Cats” Sweater.

Just in case all your friends and relatives start to doubt your dedication to achieving cat lady/man status, just wear this shirt as affirmation.

4. Cat Power.

While she’s not a cat, and possibly not even fond of them, Cat Power is a cat I am fond of, especially after listening to her new song “Ruin” off of her upcoming LP Sun. Listen to it on SoundCloud here.

5. Vince.

This is my cat. I wish you could meet him.

6. Cat Eye Ring.

I’ve been looking for a good evil-eye ring for awhile now, but I think I’m going to halt that search and pick up one of these instead. Made from taxidermy cat eyes, these rings come in multiple colours and are almost as mesmerizing as the real things. Order a custom-made on here.

7. Tumblr cats.

There are a zillions tumblrs dedicated to cats. This one is pretty good, as is this one.

8. Cat Eyeliner.

Just when I thought I was getting pretty good at doing cat eye makeup, I found this picture and was put to shame.

9. Cat Figurines.

We all have a friend who collects them, or as I do, you have several. These figurines are from Value Village, but I think every thrift store and flea market in the entire world has at least a few kitschy cat tsotchkes in their stock.

10. Cat Ladies Documentary.

Finally somebody made the movie we’ve all been waiting for. Watch the trailer here.
