Snowblink: Inner Classics

This has been a big week for Cali-turned-Toronto duo, Snowblink. First, it saw the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album, Inner Classics. If you missed the buzz so far, don’t worry, it’s not going to stop any time soon. It’s even the latest window display at Soundscapes. Really, people are excited.

Inner Classics was co-produced by Chris Stringer, who was clearly the perfect fit having worked with bands like Timber Timbre and Ohbijou. Together, Stringer, Gesundheit and bandmate Dan Goldman bring us from the chanting, almost tribal, album opener “Pray For Surf”, to the mellow and smooth “Safety Stories”, right down to the country/folk driven track “Bounty”.

Along with the album, Snowblink also released their video for the track “Black and White Mountains”. The video overlays shots of Gesundheit and Goldman with ghostly looking nature scenes, but focuses mainly on shots of lava, volcanoes and fire – a nice touch to accompany the front woman’s fiery, breathtaking vocals.

You can stream Inner Classics right now at Spinner.com, and check out the video for “Black and White Mountains” above.

And be sure to watch out the next issue for our profile on Snowblink.
