An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail. – Edwin Land

After an exceptionally long week spent creating the relaunch in September, we felt it was important to reconsider the balance of our focus in our upcoming issue. To refine the OTMzine brand, we felt we needed to scale back the amount of content in our Winter 2011 issue. Although the issue feels tiny for us, there are still 24 amazing profiles in the many pages you are about to read. From photographers and bands to interior, fashion and graphic designers, each profile has been specifically crafted to best highlight what each artist has to offer. With a few new disciplines added, we seem to have almost every type of creative field covered. This re-balancing has allowed us to spend more time focusing on other aspects of the OTMzine brand such as the blog, social networking, advertising and especially events. As much as we love being an online magazine (or webzine, as we coined ourselves), we are very much looking forward to building our offline community in the streets, at the music venues and galleries of Toronto. After a few successful adjustments in the past few months, we have refined the way we look in each issue to incorporate more interactive events for our readers and now, more than ever, we are certainly not afraid to fail.
