Bicyclette + Eat.Live.Shop DIY

Last Thursday, Tara and I gleefully attended an evening filled with jewels, shopping, wine and treats. Paige Boersma of Bicyclette Boutique and Renee Elliott of Eat. Live. Shop. came up with the fabulous idea of hosting a DIY bracelet making event and boy was it fun.

After eating another great dinner at Enoteca Sociale, we ran (literally) to Bicyclette to make bracelets. Although the walked in out of breath, the store had the perfect ambience: warm and inviting on a warmer-than-usual but still chilly fall night not only because of the lovely ladies (and one gentleman) we met, but because of the trays of home baked goodies found on a back table accompanied by a few bottles of red, white and rose and a general cheery mood in the room.

In the dressing room area of Bicyclette, Paige set up 3 tables with 10 chairs around each (the event sold out!) perfect for making new friends while laughing over how difficult it actually was to make the bracelet. Renee wandered between the three tables to give us straightforward instructions on how to put together each piece. The whole process only took 1 hour, give or take, depending on your crafty-ness (needless to say, we took 1.5 hours).

When everyone was done, its fair to say that each attendee made at least one purchase, if not more, to make the best of Paige’s generous 15% discount for those who partook in the event. I walked away with a sparkly winter headband & Tara purchased a body-harness/necklace she had been coveting.

Fortunately, the girls have mentioned that they are making the DIY event a monthly venture, but are still trying to work out the kinks of it all. I know it will become something to look forward to each month.
