Chloé comme Parris FW12

Since our Spring 2012 Issue is going to be launched in one day, we decided to take the best in seat in the Toronto Fashion Week house (in front of our computer screen) to watch the FW12 chloé comme parris collection grace the runway.

As they hinted to in our Catch Up: Fill-In-The-Blank last week, their crazy idea for fire on the runway took form in the shape of tall pillar candles on the floor as well as atop creepy candle sticks. As soon as the first look hit the runway, the entire setting instantly reminded us of the 90s cult classic, The Craft.

By taking influence from soft 20s style and the edginess of piercing culture, Chloé and Parris successfully displayed their individual talents for intriguing fabrics and creative accessory details, respectively.

Stand out aspects on Chloé’s end were the flowing custom printed fabrics, cape details on various dresses, jackets and tops and the perfect balance of femininity with masculinity in each of the looks. Parris added the harder details to the collection in the form of custom hardware, adding interest with grommets, studding and zippers as well as the bondage like bracelet/bangle that everyone, including us, was gawking over. These key items let the audience know that these girls did their research to create a perfectly balanced collection.

It’s fair the to say that the sisters of chloé comme parris have done it again. With rave reviews hitting the web mere minutes after showing and becoming a trending topic on Twitter last night, it is without a doubt that their Fall/Winter 2012 collection will be all over the streets of Toronto come October (we better start saving now!)
