Since I have been shooting with professionals (models, makeup artists, and stylists, creative directors) for creatives or commissions, I have always created a ‘pre-production package’ for my shoots. Its a great way to get your ideas into something a bit more manageable and it allows your crew to get on the same page.

Below is a sample of a recent pre-production package. I like to break it down into three categories: visual aesthetic, makeup and hair inspirations, and styling references. I am a very visual person, and this method has been nothing but successful in relaying my ideas to the team.

This package is standard whenever I am in charge of the concept and organizing the crew, so mostly just creatives.

These slates are purely for inspiration, so whoever sees them can get the vibe and feel inspired to bring their skills to the shoot. Below is one sample image from the story that came out of these references. Stay organized my friends.
